Homemade Pomegranate Juice

Homemade Pomegranate Juice

We keep mentioning drinking pomegranate juice in our blogs. It can be a little on the pricey side buying a bottle of pomegranate juice on its own. Did you know it’s easy to make pomegranate juice yourself? All you need is a sharp knife, a bowl of water, a sieve, a blender, a clean bowl, and pomegranates of course!

Cut the pomegranates in half and gently break those halves into smaller sections using your hands. Place those sections into the bowl of water and carefully use your fingers to loosen the seeds from each piece. Discard the peel and pith of the pomegranate. Drain the seeds of water by pouring them through a sieve.

Pour the seeds in a blender or food processor and blend until it’s a pulp. Place a bowl under the sieve you used earlier and pour the blended pulp in. Use a spoon to press the pulp to release more juice.

If that sounds too difficult, or if you don’t have a blender, you can put the pomegranate seeds in a zip-top bag. Cut a small slit in the corner of the bag and squeeze the seeds so the juice can be released!

The juice shouldn’t need any sweetener added, but if you think it does add just a bit to taste.

Enjoy!
