Beat the Stink!

Beat the Stink!

Some of us have the misfortune of dealing with smelly feet. The odor is caused when your feet sweat and the bacteria on them begin to eat away at it. Gross, right? The fungus that causes athlete’s foot can also cause smelly feet. You could spend your money on expensive creams and medications, or you could try out this simple— and surprisingly efficient— hack!

You may have never thought about it, but Listerine mouthwash is a cheap and effective way to fight stinky feet! Listerine is an antiseptic and astringent, so it minimizes the number of bacteria on the feet and helps to constrict tissues on the feet to help prevent excessive sweating. The ethanol in Listerine also kills bacteria, fungi, and germs!

A Listerine foot soak is easy to put together. All you need are a few ingredients:

  • 1 cup of Listerine
  • 1 cup of white or apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cups of water

Prepare the mixture in a container large enough to place your feet or in your bathtub. Let your feet soak for 10 to 15 minutes. You can get another benefit from this soak than just odor relief! Use a pumice stone or a file to get rid of the softened dead skin on the feet.

You can do this soak as needed, and hopefully, it works well in helping you fight those stinky feet!
