Random Drug Testing
If you are an employer who wants to minimize drug abuse by employees at your workplace, you need a Random Drug Testing Program.
The good news is, setting up Random Drug Testing through HealthCARE Express is hassle free. You send us a list of your employees, and our computerized system automatically pulls a list of random employees to be tested monthly, quarterly, yearly, or at a time frame that suits your needs. Our team then contacts you to schedule a day for your employees to come in for their random drug tests.
About Random Drug Tests
HealthCARE Express administers a testing consortium that meets the DOT requirements for random drug and alochol testing. If you are a small company, we add your driver(s) to our consortium for random selections. If you employ several drivers, we can establish your own random selection pool. Participating in the consortium or random selection program is free to your company. You are only billed for the drug and/or alcohol tests done.
Once per quarter (or more often if requested) we perform a random selection draw of all active drivers in the company specific pools and our consortium pool. We then e-mail or mail the selections to your designated company contact with the specified time peirod you have to get the tests completed.
You will be billed for the local test collection fee by your local clinic.
The standard drug test for random drug screens is the 9 Panel test. It uses a urine sample to test for drug use. This simple test is able to indicate drug use up to 60 days depending on the drug used. Other panel sizes are available.
Benefits of Random Drug Testing
A recent study conducted by Cornell’s School of Labor Relations reported that construction companies that screen for drugs reduced injury rates by 51 percent within two years of implementing the program. Compare that to a 14 percent decline in injury rates for the average construction company over the same two-year period.
